Full Time Paralegal 

Budd-Falen Law Offices, LLC an Agricultural and Environmental law firm located in Cheyenne, WY  is seeking a paralegal/legal secretary.    A paralegal certificate or degree is required or 3-5 years of experience in a law office, governmental agency or court system.  Ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, ability to prioritize work, and have great attention to detail.  

Position requires knowledge about court rules and procedures, including the Wyoming Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Knowledge/experience with:  Microsoft Office, Windows 10, Outlook, and familiarity with other document management systems or other docketing software preferred.

Qualifications

•A paralegal certificate or associates degree in paralegal studies or a related field.

•Two to Five years of experience in a law office, governmental agency, or court system.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Knowledgeable about court rules and procedures, including the Wyoming Rules of Civil Procedure and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.

•Ability to operate a personal computer.

 

Responsibilities

•Provides administrative support for all the attorneys in the office by performing a wide variety of complex, technical and administrative tasks.

 

•Provides litigation support to several attorneys  for cases in a variety of settings including federal court, and state courts.

 

•Performs paralegal duties requiring the frequent use of discretion, initiative, and judgment.

 

•Includes drafting pleadings; overseeing the collection of discovery materials, including electronic discovery; scheduling hearings, trials and depositions; assisting at hearings and trials as needed.

 

•Docket and calendar deadlines by application of the appropriate court rules or orders.

 

•Draft documents including correspondence, memoranda, contracts, ordinances and resolutions.

 

•Develop document templates.

 

•Proofread material for accuracy, completeness, grammar, and punctuation.

 

•Assist attorneys in handling sensitive and confidential matters.

 

•Research legal matters in legal research databases or in public records.

 

•Analyze research and incorporate research into written material prepared for attorney review.

 

•Perform file management for both electronic and hard copy files.

•Retrieve documents from federal or state electronic filing systems.

•Route documents to appropriate attorney.

•Communicate effectively.

•Other job duties as may be assigned.
