
Elise Balin
Associate Attorney
Elise Balin joined Falen Law Offices in 2025 following graduating From the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. Additionally, Elise holds a Master of Environmental Law and Policy degree with academic distinction from Vermont Law and Graduate School and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from University of Wyoming. While pursuing her Environmental and Law studies, Elise was awarded the Roland W. Hagemann Prize in Water Law Scholarship for her writing of water law issues in the Fall of 2024.
Elise Balin was born and raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon, on her families fourth-generation farm and cattle ranch, where she developed a deep connection to agriculture and natural resources. This upbringing instilled a lifelong passion for advocating on behalf of agricultural producers and their connections with natural resources.
Elise is passionate about continuing work in scholarship and legal research within the framework of federal environmental laws and natural resource issues throughout her career.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Elise enjoys hunting, spending time outdoors, roping, and spending time with family in Oregon, embracing the values and traditions of the land that shaped her passion for law and advocacy.
